Rice

Garlic Butter Rice
1 T butter
1 T olive oil
¼ small onion, chopped
4 garlic cloves, minced
1½ C jasmine rice
Saute then add
1 T chicken bullion
3 C water
Salt & pepper to taste
Cook for 20 minutes on stove top or pour all into rice cooker

Turmeric Rice
1 T butter
1 T olive oil
¼ small onion, chopped
3 garlic cloves, minced
1½ C jasmine rice
1½ tsp turmeric powder
1 T Chicken bullion
2½ C water
1 bay leaf
See above for cooking

Honey Garlic Chicken


4-10 bone in chicken thighs
Red potatoes, diced - as many as you like
16 oz fresh or 1 can green beans **
1 Cup carrots, diced (or baby)
Mix together:
½ C honey
½ C soy sauce
1 tsp minced garlic
1 tsp garlic powder
1 pinch of black pepper

Place all except green beans** in slow cooker.
Low 6-8 hours or High 3-4 hours.
Add green beans and cook 30 minutes more.

Pasta with Garlic and Wine

½ lb pasta (I prefer fettuccine)
¼ C olive oil
5 T butter
4 gloves garlic, chopped
½ t red pepper flakes
1 t kosher salt
½ t black pepper
½ C white wine
½ C ricotta cheese (or cream cheese)

Boil pasta for about 7 minutes (or until al dente)
In another pan pour in olive oil, butter, and garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
Add red pepper flakes, salt and pepper, stir for 2 minutes more.
Pour in wine and cook another 2 minutes.
Add cheese and stir until melted.
Toss with pasta.

Serve as a side dish or
double the recipe and add chicken to serve 4.

Add spinach or broccoli, steamed, and/or cooked chicken breast for a complete meal.

Filipino Adobo Chicken (Slow Cooker)

1 family pack of chicken thighs (with or without bones)
1 C white vinegar
1 C soy sauce
1 head garlic, peeled

Place all in slow cooker* on high for at least 4 hours.
Serve over white rice.

*or stove top on low-med for at least 2 hours.
